NCQA announces first ACO accreditations

Last week, the National Committee of Quality Assurance (NCQA) president issued accreditation to the first six physician-hospital networks that qualify as true accountable care organizations. The National Committee of Quality Assurance evaluates accountable care organizations on the basis of 65 elements including whether they have sufficient specialists and primary care providers.
