Need information on workplace safety? TJC offers new compendium of resources

With a nod to OSHA’s Safe + Sound Week, August 15-21, The Joint Commission (TJC) is announcing the creation a Healthcare Workforce Safety and Well-Being website, which offers a variety of resources to help organizations help their staffs stay safe.

Much like the TJC’s other websites offering links to resources, the site breaks out the information into federal and TJC compendiums, that in turn offer different levels of work tools on healthcare worker care and safety.

For instance, the resource links to TJC’s own workplace violence website, as well as federal healthcare staff-related resources from OSHA, the CDC and NIOSH.

There is also a link to the National Academy of Medicine (NAM), which offers such work tools as assessments for workplace burnout and resources to examine policies and procedures that may add to staff burden, including a “De-Implementation Checklist” from the American Medical Association.

OSHA’s Safe + Sound Week is a “nationwide event held each August that recognizes the successes of workplace health and safety programs and offers information and ideas on how to keep America’s workers safe.”
