Organizations celebrate National Fire Prevention Week: October 7-13

The Joint Commission, the Food and Drug Administration (FDA), and 22 other organizations are celebrating National Fire Prevention Week, October 7-13, by commemorating the one year anniversary of the Preventing Surgical Fires Initiative.
The initiative was launched on October 13, 2011 to increase awareness of factors that contribute to surgical fires, provide surgical fire prevention tools, and promote risk reduction practices throughout the health care community.
