TJC updates 10 chapters related to burden reduction, discharge planning
Remember before the novel coronavirus for 2019? The one that causes COVID-19?
In the middle of the deluge of pandemic news, you may have noticed that The Joint Commission (TJC) updated several of its standards to reflect all the changes—well, almost all—that CMS made under last fall’s burden reduction and discharge planning final rules revising the Medicare Conditions of Participation (CoP).
And they’re in effect as of now, for the most part. (Editor’s note: Sorry we didn’t say anything before—TJC released the revisions right after the April issue went to print.)
