IHI develops framework for improving joy in work

When the Institute for Healthcare Improvement (IHI) set out to find a solution to improve staff well-being, it approached the issue from the organization's side. How can a healthcare organization make its difficult, emotionally invested, physically exhausting work more joyful? The IHI discovered: “When everyone is engaged in an equitable and diverse environment, they feel as though they can listen to what matters to patients and colleagues; comfortably ask questions, request help, or challenge what’s happening; and use teamwork to successfully solve challenges,” (Perlo, Balik, Swensen, Kabcenell, Landsman, Feeley, 2017).
