Infection control has been a hot topic this year, with an increased focus on high-level disinfection and sterilization since the carbapenem-resistant Enterobacteriaceae outbreak in California linked to improperly cleaned duodenoscopes at the beginning of the year. As survey time rolls around, many hospitals are receiving citations for not complying with IC.02.02.01.
