Joint Commission MM standards to apply to sample meds

As of July 1, many of The Joint Commission’s Medication Management (MM) standards will apply to sample medications for hospitals, ambulatory care, behavioral health, critical access hospital, home care, and office-based surgery programs, according to Joint Commission Online. The accreditor reviewed its MM elements of performance and chose the ones that applied to sample medications. You can find the prepublication standards on The Joint Commission’s website.
