Safe storage, handling, injection, and infusion of vaccines can prevent infections, but those practices must be taught to and consistently performed correctly by nurses, pharmacists, and any other healthcare providers who prepare and deliver injectable and infusible medications. Negative outcomes, such as infections and outbreaks, can occur when safe injection practices are not followed. Failures in this area can also lead to fines from government agencies and accrediting organizations, plus the potential for negative publicity.

During this 90-minute webinar, expert speaker Terri Rebmann, PhD, RN, CIC, FAPIC, will explain how improper administration of vaccines can result in injuries or prevent the vaccines from providing optimal protection. She will also discuss the components of safe storage, handling, injection, and infusion practices for vaccines and how to put them into action.
