Study: Hospitals need to improve ICU infection control practices

New research from Columbia University and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention finds that if hospitals bolster their use and development of infection control in intensive care units (ICU), they can substantially reduce healthcare-acquired infections (HAI).
The report estimates that HAIs result in $33 billion in additional healthcare costs each year.
